The supposed top 20 American Sports, do you agree?
There is no question that the top five should be exactly where they are, however there more?
- American Football - starting in 1869 by the National College league.
- Baseball - Let's put it this way, the only competition to have a World Series where only America takes part.
- Basketball – over 300 million people play world wide and America started the NBA.
- Hockey - Just like America, this sport is never boring or monotonous, always something new.
- Golf - Always considered a posh mans sport, and it is, except Tiger Woods really set it off for everyone.
- Wrestling – One of the highest viewed programs on American TV.
- Tennis - Americans can go to almost any country in the world and win something in this sport.
- Skateboarding - America helped this sport to reach glory, then it quickly grew.
- Surfing - Enjoyed by all around the world, but made great by America.
- Ice Skating - A Sport in which men and women have become very famous for.
- Boxing - America hosts some of the greatest fights, but there are not often enough to come in the top 5.
- Soccer - Slowly becoming a big sport, with names like David Beckham coming in.
- Archery - you cannot deny this a position in the table, in the Olympics the Americans rule.
- Volleyball - Definitely, who ever thought this up knew exactly what they were doing.
- Cycling - Has been in the sport world for a while now, and has taken off, but not as much as others.
- Track and Field - Americans have always taken this seriously and produced some great Athletes.
- Horse Racing – Still very much considered the English sport, but the Americans have some very good if not better riders.
- Rock Climbing - A sport for all to enjoy, indoors or outdoors, much fun to be had, and in great American scenery.
- Extreme Sports – Anything that is considered by normal people to be very dangerous.
- Auto Racing - this should be higher on the list, especially Monster Truck and Rally racing, but hard to place.
